The reason is because TopatoCo is GREAT at handling things like T-shirts (so I don’t have to deal with them), but for personalized items like the Artist Edition books, or handmade items like the calendars, or labor-intensive things like allowing people to create their own custom greeting card packs…it’s way easier to just handle that stuff myself.
I normally try to keep it all under one roof for the sake of convenience, but this year I just couldn’t figure out how. For example I really like letting people choose their own greeting card packs, but assembling all those custom orders is not really something TopatoCo can do.
Also I do get pleasure from packing and fulfilling orders. I don’t want to do it all day every day, but it makes me feel like I’m actually earning my keep when I can busy myself with my hands instead of just staring at a computer screen all day.
Noted about the links as well. I’ll see where a link would make sense; in the meantime it’s just store.wondermark.com, which is hopefully easy to remember; or there’s also a link right on my TopatoCo page. A lot of the icons in the left column on the Wondermark blog will take you there too. But I will see what I can do about making it simpler!
